TAN file format

Postby Jack in the box » Fri Aug 05, 2005 22:30

Welll, i try to understand the TAN file format. At this moment i can import and display the 3D shape but i'm stuck to the normal value in the vertices data.
Don't know how to use this unique value. I support it's link to a array of precalculated normals but where can i get it !

That's a good question. If I remember correctly, I have only been interested in reading out the geometry when hacking the TAN format. You should maybe download the original FAKKTools and take a look at their sources...

Tan file format

Postby Jack in the box » Tue Aug 23, 2005 23:59

Ok, thank's for the post, finding the source wasn't so easy !
As i understand TAN file format are more or less like MD3 file format (Quake specification).
So the reference to indexed normal value is the same for TAN and MD file : a static precalculated normals array of 162 values.
That all...
